You may remember that the UFC's October 24th Fight Pass card in Dublin, Ireland was supposed to feature a main event between lightweights Dustin Poirier and Joseph Duffy. When Duffy was pulled from the card with a concussion, the UFC promoted Paddy Holohan vs. Louis Smolka to main event and rescheduled for UFC 195: Lawler vs. Condit on January 2nd, 2016.
While it's unfortunate that this five-round main event has become a three-round non-headliner, at least it ended up being placed on a PPV main card on New Year's Day. Wait, it isn't on the main card? Well that's okay, it'll be on Fox Sports 1 as the headliner for the televised prelims and definitely be a nice lead-in to the PPV. Wait, it's not on the FS1 card? Well well well.
Eric Winter, UFC Fight Pass senior VP, tweeted that Poirier vs. Duffy will be on the Fight Pass prelims as a "thank you" to fans who didn't get to see this happen earlier in the year.
So if you were eager to see Poirier vs. Duffy at UFC 195, then you'll have to tune into the card before 8 PM ET. It's the first time Poirier has been on the prelims of any card since his win over Max Holloway at UFC 143, which was three years and nine fights ago.
