Rizin is in full nostalgia mode when it comes to booking their two cards scheduled for December 29th and 31st. For the most recent bout announced though, they went in a different direction - prodigies with recognizable last names. The promotion announced via press release that ADCC champ Kron Gracie will face off with 19-year-old wrestling standout Asen Yamamoto.
27-year-old Gracie (1-0 MMA) won the 77kg division at the ADCCs in 2013. He made his MMA debut last December in Japan, submitting Hyung Soo Kim in just over a minute with an armbar.
Yamamoto (0-0 MMA) is the nephew of UFC bantamweight and Japanese legend Norifumi 'Kid' Yamamoto. He is apparently a lifelong wrestler, though the press release is light on describing his accomplishments.
It's not mentioned what weight class they'll compete at.
It's unclear which of the two shows this will be on, but I'd expect it to be the NYE show. Other bouts and events already scheduled for the event(s) are a bout featuring Fedor Emelianenko (rumored to be against Tsuyoshi Kohsaka, but not confirmed), a light heavyweight tournament featuring King Mo Lawal, and Gabi Garcia's MMA debut against pro wrestler Lei'D Tapa
