Report: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tsuyoshi Kohsaka 3 set for Rizin on NYE

If reports are accurate, it looks like Fedor will be facing a 45-year-old fighter who hasn't competed in almost a decade.

Fedor Emelianenko reportedly has his NYE opponent set for the upcoming Rizin card, and it will not be against the now 2-0, Jaideep Singh as initially rumored. According to Inside MMA, he will be booked for a third bout for an older vet he already faced twice in Japan.

If you think the 39-year-old Emelianenko is past his prime, the now 45-year-old TK will be returning to active competition after being long retired. The Japanese wrestler has compiled a 28-18-2 record with UFC, PRIDE, Rings and various other organizations. He last competed in 2006, when he lost to Mark Hunt in PRIDE.

Kohsaka handed Fedor his first loss back in 2000 in Rings, a questionable stoppage due to cuts very early in the contest. For the longest time this was Fedor's only blemish in his career, and he avenged this 'loss' with a victory in 2005 in PRIDE.

Even though people thought the matter had been settled, reportedly Rizin promoters felt it warrants a third fight 10 years later.
