Will Brooks claimed he was jumped, sucker punched by Pitbull brothers; Friere responds (Updated)

Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks says that he was jumped and sucker punched by Patricky and Patricio Freire just two days before Bellator 145.

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Will Brooks is just two days away from a Bellator lightweight title defense against Marcin Held. Featherweight champ Patricio Freire is just two days away from his trilogy bout with Daniel Straus. But according to some tweets by Brooks, Friere and his brother Patricky didn't wait until Bellator 145 to get into a fight. Brooks claims he was jumped by the brothers while he was on the phone speaking to his mother (language warning):

Brooks has never competed in the cage against either Pitbull brother, but did have a very testy exchange with Patricio on a Bellator 145 conference call a few days ago. Patricky is a lightweight and fought Held in a tournament final last year, but came up short.

UPDATE: Patricio Freire has responded via Twitter:
