Tonight, join us right here for live discussion of episode 7 of The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber. As always, the show airs on Fox Sports 1 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
Well that was an awesome episode, right? Last week delivered the best single episode of TUF in years. Great fight between Baghdad and Erosa (my early pick for Fight of the Season honors - highlights above), plus a fascinating dynamic between McGregor, Faber, and guest coach TJ Dillashaw. The fact that this airs shortly after the public falling out between Dillashaw and Team Alpha Male makes it so much sweeter. This is reality television done well, where we see the very real shift in relationship play out in part on our screens, all while the mastermind laughs in the background. And if after that episode, you don't want to see Faber vs. Dillashaw, you're nuts.
Anyway, back to the competition at hand. We are now in the back half of the opening round, with the Americans up slightly 3-2. This week: Thanh Le vs. Martin Svensson. I've been looking forward to Le fighting as he looked dynamite in the first fight, with some great striking skills. He's only 4-1, but has a strong martial arts background he brings in. Svensson is far more experienced at 14-5 and has faced a decent enough level of competition. He's a solid pick here. But I'm a striking guy, so I have to go with Thanh.
Here are the current standings:
