Canelo Alvarez got the big win over Miguel Cotto in tonight's HBO Boxing PPV main event. It wasn't an easy win despite what the absolutely insane 119-109 and 118-110 scorecards suggest, but there was no denying that the 25-year-old Mexican star was the rightful winner. Up next is a potential showdown with Gennady Golovkin, but while he may want the fight, his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, may not be too keen on having Golovkin as his star attraction's first WBC middleweight title defense.
This was a fight that had plenty of interest from UFC fighters, and this is how they reacted on Twitter.

Great fight by Canelo. He shut down Cottos one trick early and frustrated him.but I barely watched it tbh. Diego/Lamas caught my attention

Canelo vs GGG would be fireworks. Not sure the timing is right though. I think there's so more guys for GGG to fight first. #CottoCanelo

I'm a huge boxing fan too, but Diego/Lamas had twice as much action in 15 mins than Cotto/Canelo in 36.They showed the real Mexican fighting
