Freddie Roach on Canelo Alvarez: 'We're going to outbox him easily'

Hear Miguel Cotto's trainer Freddie Roach on why he thinks his man will be the better boxer Saturday night when he faces Canelo Alvarez live on PPV.

On Saturday night, Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez go to war in boxing's last major PPV event of 2015. Cotto vs. Canelo is live on HBO PPV this Saturday, November 21 with a fight time of 9:00 p.m. ET. One of the big stories for Cotto in this fight has been his resurgence under the tutelage of trainer Freddie Roach. Always outspoken and ready to say what he thinks, Roach spoke to our colleagues at Fight Hub TV about the fight this week and why he thinks Cotto will win. You can check out the full video above.

Here are highlights of what Roach had to say in his assessment of Saul Canelo Alvarez:

I think we're going to outbox him pretty easily. The angles are going to really destroy him, because he's a little but slow in his feet and he doesn't turn too well. I think he's kind of made for us.

He also says he's hoping for a Cotto knockout win so that they can call Mayweather out post-fight and predicts that Canelo will come in at roughly a 12 pound weight advantage Saturday night.
