Ronaldo Souza already felt screwed over when Luke Rockhold got the next shot at the middleweight title, so he accepted to take on Yoel Romero after his submission win over Chris Camozzi. This time around, he won't accept it again in case he defeats "The Soldier of God".
In case someone else cuts the line, Jacare feels like there's nothing else he can do but take it to his boss, as he told Combate.
"Rockhold sure cut the line, he wasn't supposed to be next. My title shot is long overdue, my friend. Here's the deal, in case I beat Romero, which is what will happen, I'm going after Dana. I can't go after the matchmaker, because Joe Silva is too small. Dana is a bit bigger. I'm next. I don't care who wins or loses the next title fight. I want to beat Romero, a really tough guy. I will defeat him and I will be next."
If he could choose who he would like to fight for the belt, though, Jacare confessed he would like to face Rockhold again to erase his loss back in Strikeforce in a fight he thought he should have gotten the decision win.
"I only think about getting the belt. It doesn't matter if it will be from Luke or Chris. What I want is to be the champion. That Rockhold fight is long gone, but it would be good to have the opportunity to fight him again. I asked for that fight several times back in Strikeforce, I don't know why it never happened."
Jacare is expected to take on Yoel Romero on December 12, at UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor, in Las Vegas. In the co-main event of the evening, Chris Weidman will look to defend his UFC middleweight title against Luke Rockhold.
