For the first time in the promotion's history, Bellator MMA is headed overseas for its live product. In 2016, Bellator will head to the UK, Italy, and Israel, as company president Scott Coker confirmed in an announcement on Tuesday.
"We are thrilled to bring the incredible excitement of hard-hitting Bellator action featuring some of the best athletes in the world to our new global partners in the UK, Israel, and Italy," said Coker. "The London event is especially encouraging as we will broadcast the main card in the UK on one of the country's most-distributed broadcast channels, Channel 5."
Details on these three events will be announced in the coming months, but what we do know is that the London show will be from the O2 Arena and broadcast live on the UK's Channel 5, with prelims on Spike UK. The card will air on tape-delay on Spike TV for North American viewers. This is all obviously purely speculative, but Bellator LHW champion Liam McGeary, Linton Vassell, Michael Page, and Paul Daley are surely favorites to land on the London event.
The Israel show will originate from Tel Aviv and air on Ego Total. There were no other details given for the Italian card aside from it being in Italy.
