UFC 193 PPV results: Rosholt beats Struve in snoozer

Stefan Struve and Jared Rosholt kicked things off on the big UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm pay-per-view in Melbourne, Australia, with a record crowd on hand to watch this battle of two heavyweights under the age of 30. Rosholt had come into this fight with wins in his last 2, while Struve ended the career of Minotauro Nogueira in his last bout a few months ago.

Following two minutes of very little offense on the feet, Rosholt shot in for the takedown and immediately landed it and advanced to side control. Rosholt stood up while Struve remained on his back, then Jared dove back into Stefan's guard. A whole lot of nothing other than attempts at positional dominance by Rosholt summed up the rest of a dull 1st round. Round 2 wasn't much different, although the few leg kicks Rosholt landed had a noticeable effect on Stefan. After one takedown was stuffed, Rosholt got him back down. Struve nearly swept his way back up and free of Rosholt, but Rosholt clasped his hands together and threw Struve to the canvas once more. Struve landed an upkick on Rosholt and towards the end of the round got Rosholt with some elbows from his bottom in an otherwise forgettable 2nd stanza. Round 3 was also bad, horrible, no good, and Struve's last-ditch attempts to stop a fading Rosholt were futile.
