Polish standout Joanna Jedrzejczyk is set to take part in the biggest fight of her life on Saturday night, not because of the significance of her opponent, but because of the magnitude of the occasion.
The UFC strawweight champion is set to defend her title for the second time in front of a record-breaking audience in Melbourne, Australia. She will serve as the co-main event for a Ronda Rousey headlining act and will face Valerie Letourneau to extend her undefeated streak.
Given that Joanna is a hefty favorite --- -2000 in some places -- against Letourneau, media members focused on her potential rematch against Claduia Gadelha in the near future.
"She's talking so much on her social media," Jedrzejczyk told the media. "She should realize that she lost the fight with me and she should just stand in the line and wait for her chance to fight with me. ‘Cause the line is long, so she should just think about other fights before she gonna fight me."
Ultimately, Joanna believes that the division is still full of potential title challengers and talent that she had not already faced.
"I think there are other fighters who deserve it more. Like I said, she has just one win after she lost to me. So she should just wait and get other fight.
