Ronda Rousey: 'I had to go bankrupt to make sure I prepared for a fight right'

In the third episode of UFC 193 Embedded, Ronda Rousey explains how meticulous she simulates fight week during her camp.

In the third episode of UFC 193 Embedded, a gym was set up in Ronda Rousey's hotel suite, where the UFC women's bantamweight champion completed a workout in front of journalists from all over the world.

It is a procedure that helps her get her mind and body conditioned for fight night and that she regularly uses during camp, as the she later explained:

"Why do you think I turned my chair around to get my hand wrapped in a small room like this, with people watching, everyone being silent, on camera?" Rousey asked. "It's like -- to get conditioned for that environment, you know, and conditioned for all of it. Every week leading up to a fight is fight week. There's cameras all around the gym and everything, it's the same as there is right now. I recreate fight week over and over and over again, the whole camp. Including cameras, including the pressure, including my hardest day being MMA sparring end of the week at the exact time that I fight."

This method, of course, costs the 28-year old superstar a considerable amount of money. Money that is well spent however, if you want to really succeed as a fighter, says Rousey.

"I had to go bankrupt to make sure I prepared for a fight right. If your priority as you get up to a fight is saving money, then that means you're only here for the money. And you're gonna lose."

Also in this video, strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk having a tasty fight-week meal, Antonio Silva predicted Rousey vs. Holm right before bumping into opponent Mark Hunt, and Uriah Hall had problems with his Reebok gear. You can watch it above.

UFC 193 will take place November 14 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
