It was a hard fight Alex Oliveira had to endure against Piotr Hallmann until he found the knockout punch early into the third round at UFC Fight Night 77. It was all worth it for the Brazilian Cowboy though, as the win earned him his first Performance of The Night bonus.
Still amazed by the news, Oliveira told Combate what he intends to with the money. It'll all be spent on his family.
"I have never seen that much money, except for on television. The bonus will make a difference in my life. I will buy a house for my mother. I didn't expect to get it, I'm so happy. I wanted to scream, jump around during the press conference, but I couldn't. I will buy each of my three kids a bicycle. They asked me, it'll be their Christmas gift."
The Hallmann fight was Oliveira's fourth fight in the UFC, but it was the first one he was able to have a full training camp to prepare for. Used to stepping up on short notice, Oliveira says he's ready to go as many times as the UFC needs him to.
"If they give me 10 fights next year, I'll take them all. If it's only three or four, I'm satisfied. When opportunity comes, you can't let it pass. I'm ready to war. If they put me in the next Rio card, I'll be ready. It's great to fight in Brazil. I got my first KO in the UFC and many more will come."
