Brazilian women's UFC fighter Jessica "Bate Estaca" Andrade will test the waters of the 115 pound weight class after an inconsistent run in the bantamweight division, as MMAFighting.com reported.
Andrade has a record of 4-3 in her three years inside the Octagon. She rode a three-fight win streak following her debut loss to Liz Carmouche, but then suffered a 1st round submission loss to Marion Reneau in Brazil this February. After a dominant unanimous decision win over Sarah Moras, Andrade suffered another submission loss, this time in a rematch vs. Raquel Pennington at UFC 191 in September. All of her defeats have come by stoppage.
As for the 20 pound weight cut, the 24-year-old found it to be easier than she'd expected.
"It's easy. I expected it to be way more complicated, but I managed to stay at 132 pounds and eat well."
So far, there is still no timetable or opponent for when Jessica will make her strawweight debut, but it's another edition to a weight class that has been in the UFC for less than a year.
