On Wednesday, UFC women's bantamweight champion and female pound for pound #1 Ronda Rousey revealed her ambitions of winning titles in boxing and the WWE.
The judo Olympic bronze medalist, who won the "Best Female Athlete" award at the 2015 ESPY's, said that she wants to be regarded as the greatest combat sport's fighter of all time.
Retired boxing world champion Oscar De La Hoya - who now operates Golden Boy Promotions - said he's been in talks with Rousey about her boxing debut. The 42-year-old would be thrilled to promote MMA's leading star in the boxing ring.
"Absolutely. Look: we've discussed it, and whenever she's ready to step into the ring as a fighter, as a boxer, then obviously Golden Boy Promotions will be right there with her," De La Hoya said to FightHub.
When asked how he rates Ronda's boxing skills, the Mexican-American said "Rowdy" has all the tools to become a force to be reckoned with in the ring.
"She's tough. She's really good. Speed, power and instinct - which is very important. She dares to be great. That's the difference with a lot of fighters, she takes the risks and that's what I love about her."
Ronda Rousey could have her standup skills tested when she takes on decorated boxing champion Holly Holm next month. Rousey vs. Holm will headline the UFC 193 pay-per-view in Melbourne, Australia on November 15th.
