Daniel Cormier responds to Jon Jones' UFC reinstatement

New, comments

The current UFC light heavyweight champion kept it classy in a statement regarding Jon Jones' official return to the UFC.

With the news that Jon Jones has been reinstated by the UFC, it's natural to wonder what Daniel Cormier has to say about all of this. Luckily for us, Cormier was on top of things and issued a statement regarding the official return of his nemesis. Here's what he had to say via his Facebook page:

Congrats to Jon "Bones" Jones on his reinstatement to the UFC. For MMA fans this is a good day. A guy that has shown to be one of the greatest fighters of all time is back. As a competitor there could be no other outcome and this is the best news I've heard in a long time. Jon has said the right things and his actions are backing his words up. We all hope this is the last time we have to deal with anything like that. And lastly as a fan u get to see see 2 of the best fighters compete against each other. With that being said I can't wait to compete against him again. -DC

Jone defeated Cormier by decision at UFC 182, but was suspended and stripped of his title following a hit-and-run accident earlier this year. Cormier defeated Anthony Johnson for the vacant title, and recently defended it in a close fight with Alexander Gustafsson. With the rematch between Jones and Cormier pretty much a lock at this point, things should get pretty interesting going forward from here.
