We're only one week into 2015, and we've already lost two UFC main events due to injury. Recent light heavyweight title challenger Glover Teixeira has been forced out of his UFC Fight Night: Porto Alegre appearance vs. Rashad Evans after suffering a knee injury. MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani reports that in its place is a heavyweight fight between Antonio Silva and Frank Mir, previously scheduled for UFC 184 on February 28th in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Evans has been pulled from the event and it's unknown who and when he'll fight again.

Mir (16-9) has lost 4 straight fights and didn't win a round in any of them. He's fought a brutal stretch of opposition dating back to 2012 when he was stopped by then-heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos at UFC 146. The 35-year-old has also suffered defeats against Josh Barnett, Daniel Cormier, and Alistair Overeem.

Silva (18-6, 1 NC) is without a win in his last 3 UFC fights, including a shock 1st round KO to Andrei Arlovski in Brasilia last September. "Bigfoot" challenged for the heavyweight belt held by Cain Velasquez in 2013, but he was dropped and stopped in just 81 seconds. The two wins Bigfoot has in the UFC are against Travis Browne and Alistair Overeem, as well as a draw-turned-NC against Mark Hunt after he tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone.

Without delving into the archives, this might be the first ever instance of a UFC main event featuring two fighters without a win in their last 3 fights.

The night's main card will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
