Makwan Amirkhani on bizarre Joe Rogan post-fight interview: I thought he was drunk

Following his rapid-fire UFC debut, Makwan Amirkhani offered his thoughts Joe Rogan’s bizarre post-fight interview.

Makwan Amirkhani almost had his night ruined by UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Amirkhani, who made his UFC debut on the preliminary portion of the fight card in Sweden, blitzed his opponent Andy Ogle with a flying knee and several follow-up shots to force a stoppage in eight seconds. It was a remarkably impressive debut performance, as well as one of the more memorable finishes of the evening.

However,  Amirkhani was repeatedly questioned about the stoppage by Joe Rogan, who seemingly turned the post-fight interview into a pseudo-interrogation. While this did not bother Makwan, who was riding an incredible wave of emotions at the time, he could not help but wonder if the former ‘Fear Factor' star was drunk.

"It didn't bother me," Amirkhani said. "But I thought [Rogan] was a drunk, because Andy Ogle went for double leg with the referee and the referee tapped, so what should I say? [The] referee made his decision and you ask me, I said he was out."

Amirkhani fielded similar questions at the post-fight press conference, including one from a reporter who was curious to know if ‘Mr. Finland' would be willing to face Ogle in a rematch.

His response was short and sweet.

"C'mon man," Amirkhani said. "Eight seconds. Do you want less than that?"
