Things aren't looking so good for UFC and Bellator vet Dave Herman. "Pee Wee" as the heavyweight is affectionately known in the cage, was arrested in Indiana on Monday Morning, following a police chase, ending in an altercation. MMAJunkie had the initial report, and the details, while not to the extremes that we've seen in some other cases of fighters encountering law enforcement, still aren't pretty. According to reports, Herman was seen speeding with no headlights or tail lights at 1:13 am. When officers attempted to pull him over, he led them on a brief chase, before stopping at a gas station.
According to the report: "David exited his vehicle and approached Officers in an aggressive manner. David was given multiple warnings to get on the ground and failed to comply. David had to be tased in order to be taken into custody. An infant and adult female were also present in the vehicle."
As a result of the chase and altercation, Herman has been charged with three felonies: Resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, battery against law enforcement, and neglect of a dependent. Also included is a class A misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement. A woman and young child were present in Herman's vehicle at the time of the incident.
Most recently, Herman fought for Titan FC defeating Kalib Starnes back in May. Herman's status with the promotion is not known at this time.
