Several days ago, One FC welterweight champion Ben Askren took it upon himself to poke fun at UFC champion Jon Jones at the expense of veteran Matt Riddle.
While Jones is clearly occupied with the task of defending his 205-pound title and overcoming undefeated Olympian Daniel Cormier at UFC 182, the champ had time to offer a response to the former Bellator fighter.
"Yeah, I saw it," Jones said. "I'm not going to acknowledge it. He's a Bellator fighter. I don't want that to be taken the wrong way, but it's like, bro, you're the king of the JV league."
Bellator once again got the short end of the stick. It was previously referred to as a 'minor league' in the UFC anti-trust class action lawsuit, and now a 'JV league' by a UFC champion.
It did not take long for Askren to respond to Jones' latest jab via twitter:
@JonnyBones I'm the king of whichever damn league I please. Have fun getting beat up Saturday night.

Cormier, naturally, thought the tweet was humorous.
"I saw that, man," Cormier said. "I thought that was pretty funny."
