Open workouts don't usually tell fans much about where a fighter is before a fight. Often times fighters will look to barely break a sweat, just trying to stay healthy and fulfill their fight week obligations. A bit of stretching, hitting a few pads, and then done. Rarely anything of interest. Conor McGregor, however, treated fans to a pretty comprehensive (if not full speed) open workout session, when he used the full 15 minutes to shadow box and work the pads with his trainers. Most notably, he spent a good portion of the workout showing various counters to spinning back kicks... and there's no way that's an accident.
