It's unsurprising, but unfortunate that Daniel Cormier may already be getting a little tired of talking about his press conference brawl with Jon Jones. While there may be a lot more to this fight than a scuffle over Dave Sholler, it's become the narrative of his upcoming light heavyweight title bout. Cormier recently appeared on AXSTV's Inside MMA to talk about the fights, both past and upcomming:
"You've got two of the best fighters in the world fighting for a championship.... I think we need to focus more on that than all the stuff that's happened outside of the cage. The stuff that's happened outside of the cage isn't good. It's not a proud moment for me, it's not a proud moment for Jon [Jones]. So we have to carry ourselves better and show people why they're really tuning into the fight."
He also talked about the potential for repercussions, from the NSAC, saying, "We kind of expect for it to happen" but that he was prepared to "move on" from whatever punishment they handed out. Check out the whole thing above, and stay tuned for more as this rivalry has all the appearances of staying public right up until fight night.
