Kickboxing organization Superkombat was in action this weekend, hosting the Superkombat World Grand Prix live from Constanta, Romania on Saturday, August 2. The big names on the card were Superkombat mainstays Catalin Morosanu and Sebastian Ciobanu, both of whom were victorious.
But the big winner of the night was Romanian Light Heavyweight Alex Filip. Filip took on Roman Palamar in the show opener, and turned some heads with an incredible KO finish. In round 1, Filip took to the air, landing a gorgeous Rolling Thunder kick. It landed clean, Palamar went down, and the fight was over. Peter Graham must be proud.
Check out a gif of the Rolling Thunder finish here and watch the full Filip vs. Palamar fight here.
If not for the wild Raymond Daniels KO from Glory 16 Denver, this would be a front runner for kickboxing KO of the year. It's definitely the kind of moment you watch for, and one that will make Filip an immediate name.
