In the span of 3 months, Renan Barao has gone from undisputed bantamweight champion, to title challenger, and now he will have to work his way back towards the top to receive another one. After Barao was forced off of UFC 177 when he passed out trying to cut weight, UFC president Dana White made it clear to the media that he's not next in line for the winner of T.J. Dillashaw vs. Joe Soto:
Dana just said to the media that Barao will not get a title shot upon returning.

There is no precedent set for a UFC title challenger passing out on the day of the weigh-ins. Joe Riggs and Travis Lutter have certainly missed weight and lost title shots, but never to the point where the bout was called off entirely. It's been an incredibly bad turn-of-events for Barao dating back to his shock loss to Dillashaw in May.
As far as a health update on Barao, who is currently in a Sacramento hospital, Globo's Ivan Raupp spoke to the Brazilian's camp, who told them he is fine:
Just spoke to Renan Barao's camp again, and he is FINE. That's what really matters right now.
