UFC Fight Night Bangor post-fight bonuses: Tim Boetsch wins $50,000 for comeback win over Tavares

While UFC President Dana White has been wrong in the past when predicting underrated "sleeper" cards, the promotion's first trip to Bangor, Maine was certainly not one of them. The night featured an array of stoppages and several entertaining scraps to send the crowd home happy.

Tim Boetsch rallied from a difficult spot early on to score another come-from-behind victory over Brad Tavares in his hometown of Bangor, Maine. While Tavares was in complete control of the contest early on, he was hit with a couple of perfectly placed shots that sent him tumbling to the canvas.

RFA alum Alan Jouban made an emphatic statement in his UFC debut in Bangor with a KO victory over Seth Baczynski in the opening round of their main card fight. What was even more impressive was that the veteran was getting the better of the exchanges before an uppercut planted him face down on the canvas.  This is Jouban's third straight professional win and his first inside the octagon.

Thiago Tavares picked up a big win on Saturday night with a slick rear-naked choke submission victory over Robbie Peralta. The Brazilian was in control of the bout from the get-go and it was only a matter of time before he knocked Peralta down and found the finish. This marks Tavares's second straight win in the UFC as well as his second consecutive RNC finish.

While he did not win a post-fight bonus for his efforts, Ross Pearson redeemed himself following an unlucky streak in his last few fights in with a big KO victory over Gray Maynard the co-main event of the evening. While it was far from unexpected, the second round finish marked the Brit's biggest win since finishing George Sotiropoulos in 2012.
