While many fans likely considered the new UFC 178 main event to be a major disappointment following the hype that ensued for the Jones vs. Cormier title fight, it appears Demetrious Johnson is convinced that it was the best thing that could have happened to the highly anticipated September fight card.
The UFC Flyweight champion took to twitter to explain that while clamouring fans will have to wait a little while longer to see him perform, he is satisfied that the UFC now has a real main event to promote for the card.
Bad: You'll have to wait a bit longer to see me win again. Good: I'm the new UFC 178 headliner. Bout time that card gets a real main event.

Whether the tweet is in good spirits or ‘Mighty Mouse' is actually delusional is debatable, as it would be hard to believe that the champ is actually convinced that his presence on the card save it from impending doom.
Daniel Cormier, however, seems to think it was all playful banter:
@MightyMouseUFC you're the man DJ! Nice one champ! Good luck.
