Some big news is apparently coming from Bellator on Tuesday, and it could drastically alter the UFC's plans for women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
Earlier today, Bellator middleweight veteran Brian Rogers sent out this tweet to his followers, saying that the promotion will be making a major fight announcement tomorrow:
Friends, Fans & haters :Tomorrow there will be a major fight announcement via @BellatorMMA & various media outlets. You will be entertained

Just a few minutes before Rogers sent that out, MMA manager Hector Castro (also of Fear The Fighter) tweeted the rumor that Marloes Coenen and Gina Carano could make the shock move to Bellator, thereby burning any chance of a potential Rousey/Carano title fight in the UFC.
Hmm.. Rumor is that Gina signed with Bellator.. Apparently so did Marloes Coenen

Carano and Coenen both made a name for themselves in Strikeforce while Scott Coker was running the ship. If these rumors prove true, it would be safe to assume that these two will be paired against each other. With all due respect to Coenen, a former champion herself, Carano has been targeted by the UFC for several months, and Dana White has gone on record as saying that she'd receive an immediate title shot against Rousey, despite having not competed professionally since 2009. The last update to come out of the UFC with regards to signing her was from White himself on July 26th, saying "it's complicated".
MMA fans can look forward to tomorrow to find out whether or not Bellator has swooped in to snag Carano. As always, Bloody Elbow will keep you up to date on what could be a very interesting turn of events.
