Earlier this week, it was announced that the UFC will still head over to Brazil 4 more times before the year ends. During the UFC on FOX presser, Dana White confirmed that one of the headliners on those cards will be the title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
The rematch was supposed to happen at UFC 176, until Aldo pulled out on the last minute which led to the event's cancellation. Here's how the schedule is looking for Brazil, and while the UFC president didn't announce a specific date, it likely will end up at UFC 179:
UFC Fight Night 51: Bigfoot vs. Arlovski on September 13th in Brasilia.
UFC 179 on October 25th in Rio de Janeiro.
UFC Fight Night on November 8th in Uberlandia.
UFC Fight Night on December 20th in Barueri.
Since their first outing came in 2012, Aldo has made 3 more title defenses, while Mendes has won 5 straight bouts to climb back up the rankings. After the postponement of their rematch, the two fighters have increased the smack talk with both men even stepping over the line at times by throwing unfounded PED accusations on each other.
