The Ultimate Fighter Team Edgar vs Team Penn: Episode 12 discussion thread

Wel folks, we're finally here - the last episode of this season. And it's been... well, it's not been good. Season 19 has been marked by dull, long (LONG) fights, a distinct lack of exciting prospects, and really a distinct lack of much of anything. It's been a rough one, and last week's Corey Anderson vs. Patrick Walsh fight didn't help matters (though the drama of Walsh training with Team Penn was interesting to a degree).

All of that said, tonight features two fights, which means at least 1 pretty much HAS to end with a finish, right? Right? Cross your fingers.

Featured tonight is the Middleweight semifinal of Roger Zapata vs. Dhiego Lima. Winner moves on to face Eddie Gordon in the finals. Lima is the superior striker and superior pretty much everything, so he seems like an easy pick here, but Zapata is at least a game fighter who could scrap his way to a win if Lima gets lazy. But Lima has been one of the very few aggressive fighters this season, and while I don't love his wrestling defense, Zapata doesn't seem like the man to exploit that hole.

In the Light Heavyweight semifinal, it's Daniel Spohn vs. Matt Van Buren. Again, this seems pretty cut and dry with Spohn as the easy pick. If he wants to push the pace a bit and take a chance, he has the stand up to KO Van Buren. If not, he can grind his way to a dull decision win, but either way, this is all Spohn and should set up a Spohn vs. Corey Anderson Light Heavyweight final.
