Here's what UFC bossman Dana White said on some UFC related show on Fox Sports 1 tonight about firing announcer Chael Sonnen -- who was pulled off Saturday's UFC 175 card after failing a urine test for banned substances, then retired as an MMA fighter and was fired as an announcer Monday after it was revealed a blood test caught ANOTHER two banned PEDs in his system:
"You know, its never easy making decisions like this," White said. "You know, Chael is a person I personally care about, I know a lot of people at FOX care about him too. The guy had four banned substances in his system. Four banned substances in his system leading up to a fight here in Las Vegas.
"It's a tough one," White said. "It's one of those hard decisions you gotta make. It was definitely a hard one. It was something we had to do."
Well put Dana, well put.
Hard to believe it's been less than a month since White was telling MMA Junkie that Chael could very well be the man to replace him.
"I think Chael would be fantastic. The thing is with Chael, though, is that he over-exaggerates too much, and you don't know what's real and what's not."
