UFC 177 tickets go on sale tomorrow, and the meat of the PPV main card has already been figured out. Bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw, who was given little chance to beat Renan Barao at UFC 173, destroyed Barao in one of the biggest upsets in UFC history. Barao was knocked out in the 5th round after being dropped in the first and wobbly throughout the fight, so of course the logical thing to do is "Let's do that again". While Barao's team wanted a rematch in Brazil, the UFC was having none of that nonsense and placed this show in Sacramento, where Dillashaw trains out of Team Alpha Male. It's an immediate rematch in the main event, plus a flyweight title fight co-main between Demetrious Johnson and surprise selection Chris Cariaso.
The card is not quite complete, but with 8 fights already booked, there's not much room for anything else. The 3rd biggest fight on the card is probably Bethe Correia vs. Shayna Baszler, which could go a long way into determining whether or not Correia is a serious contender in the women's bantamweight division.
Here's a look at the current fight list, of which 3 bouts from the canceled UFC 176 have been shifted to Sleep Train Arena:
T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao
Demetrious Johnson vs. Chris Cariaso
Bethe Correia vs. Shayna Baszler
Tony Ferguson vs. Danny Castillo
Lorenz Larkin vs. Derek Brunson
Ruan Potts vs. Anthony Hamilton
Ramsey Nijem vs. Carlos Diego Ferreira
Yancy Medeiros vs. Justin Edwards
