Although most fans and pundits consider Ireland's Conor McGregor to be a significant favourite against Diego Brandao, UFC President Dana White believes the Brazilian will prove to be far more resilient than many may expect.

McGregor had been sidelined for nearly a year nursing an ACL injury but remained in the consciousness of the MMA fan base by constantly taunting his fellow featherweights by suggesting that they are scared to face him. He even proclaimed himself a future champion on multiple occasions. The two-division Cage Warriors champion will now have an opportunity to start his ascent up the featherweight ranks this weekend when he faces the durable Brazilian.

"Conor is in a tough fight this weekend," Dana said on the latest edition of "The Download". "He's been out for over a year with the ACL, he's fighting in his home town and obviously for Diego Brandao, this would be a big f**king win for him. To go into Ireland in the main event and beat Conor McGregor, it puts this kid right back on the map."

UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Brandao takes place Saturday afternoon at The O2 Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
