Erislandy Lara got off to a solid start in his Showtime pay-per-view bout with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
Lara was able to stay on the outside and move well for the first two rounds, keeping Alvarez from getting close enough to landhis power punch heavy attack. Lara picked his spots to throw jabs and the occasional combination to Alvarez's head.
Canelo wasn't having a horrible time, looking to unleash his own body attack and try to cut off the ring.
Round three was more of the same as Lara continued to try to pot shot and move around the ring, just piking when and how the action would take place.
Lara also landed a very heavy two punch combination at the end of the third, possibly cementing all three rounds of the first quarter of the fight for the Cuban star.
We'll have more action as the fight continues to progress. So stay tuned...
