Ronda Rousey's 16 second annihilation of Alexis Davis keeps up her status as the world's best female MMA fighter in our latest SB Nation women's P4P rankings. Cris Cyborg's impending return to MMA in December could help kick-start the highly coveted Rousey vs. Cyborg showdown that has been discussed to death over the past 2-3 years.
The rankings panel consists of two members from each of the SB Nation MMA sites - MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani and Dave Doyle, MMA Mania's Alex Giardini and Thomas Myers, and Bloody Elbow's Dallas Winson and Fraser Coffeen. Without further ado, here's your latest table:
(Scoring: Fighters are given 10 points for a first-place vote, nine points for a second, etc., down to one point for 10th place. The results are then tallied up and presented here.)
(Official SB Nation rankings policy: Fighters under commission or company suspensions are ineligible to be ranked during the duration of their suspension or if they have licensing issues. At the moment, this does not currently affect any women's P4P fighters generally considered to be Top-10 caliber).
Rousey was a near-unanimous selection for #1, but Thomas Myers holds firm in calling Cyborg the cream of the crop. Cat Zingano is a fairly clear #3 behind those two women, but opinions vary wildly from 4th-10th. WSOF strawweight champ Jessica Aguilar is listed at 4th, but as you can see above, Thomas has her ranked 3rd while Fraser has her 9th.
The only new addition to the top 10 is Carla Esparza, while Jessica Eye has dropped out entirely since the January rankings were published.
Upcoming matchups for ranked fighters
