After adding Holly Holm to the UFC roster a few days ago, Dana White is now focused on securing another famed women's fighter in Gina Carano.
The UFC President revealed that he will be meeting with the former Strikeforce featherweight champion's lawyer next week to resume contract negotiations. He expressed a keen interest in finalizing the deal as soon as possible.
"One down, one to go," White told ESPN.com. "I'm going to meet with Gina next week and get that f---ing thing done. Next week, man. It's just a matter of me and Lorenzo going to jump on a plane to Los Angeles, get in a room with her and her lawyer and get this thing done."
White made it clear that Carano's main interest is a title fight against women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Whether she would be placed in an immediate title fight was not made clear.
Carano has not fought a 2009 loss to Cris Justino and holds a 7-1 record overall. Carano's only fight at bantamweight was her professional debut, where she defeated Leiticia Pestova via KO.
