Oliveira vs. Lentz, Mitrione vs. Lewis added to UFC Fight Night: Connecticut

UFC Fight Night: Connecticut receives a pair of additional fights to beef up what is already a solid looking Fox Sports 1 card for September 5th.

A couple of brand new fights have been lined up for what is looking like a highly appealing UFC Fight Night event in Foxwoods, Connecticut. Fresh off of his knockout win on the TUF 19 Finale, Derrick Lewis will take on Matt Mitrione, while Charles Oliveira and Nik Lentz duel in a rematch of their 2011 encounter.

Lewis (11-2, 1 NC) is 2-0 in the UFC, with those wins coming against Jack May and more recently Guto Inocente. The hard-hitting 29-year-old also holds a LegacyFC KO win over current UFC heavyweight Jared Rosholt. Mitrione (7-3) last fought in March against Shawn Jordan, scoring a 1st round KO right as the horn sounded. His scheduled fight with Stefan Struve at UFC 175 was scrapped after Struve blacked out in his locker room, but both men were paid their show and win money afterward.

Oliveira (18-4, 1 NC) has won his last two bouts, including a shock 2nd round submission of Hatsu Hioki at UFC Fight Night in New Zealand. The Brazilian has won 4 fights at featherweight, with his losses coming to Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson. Lentz (25-6-2, 1 NC) is 4-1 since his drop to 145 lbs, and he's coming off a decision win over Manny Gamburyan after coming up short versus Chad Mendes. Oliveira and Lentz fought three years ago in Pittsburgh (at 155 lbs), with Oliveira winning by rear-naked choke. The fight would later be reviewed and flipped to a no contest after it was shown that Oliveira hit Lentz with an illegal knee to the head prior to the finish.

UFC Fight Night: Connecticut consists of a main event between middleweight contenders Ronaldo Souza and Gegard Mousasi, plus a co-main event of Alistair Overeem and Ben Rothwell in the heavyweight division.
