Since the UFC has decided to produce 50+ events in 2014, there is a remarkable amount of fighter signings and new match-ups being set up throughout any given week. Many of these new signings are for match-ups that take place on the undercard, or on the Fight Pass portion of a PPV, so we are going to continue with a new weekly (or bi-weekly if needed) series of articles where we take a brief look at each and every bout booked by the promotion in one place.
UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Miller
After Jim Alers withdrew from the his scheduled bout with Lucas Martin for reasons unknown, the UFC selected Alex White as his replacement on the Atlantic City fight card. White is taking part in his second UFC fight after defeating Estevan Payan via KO in his debut. Also on the card, Leo Kuntz was forced to pull out with an injury and will be replaced by Yosdenis Cedo, who will now face Jerrod Sanders on the prelims.
Alex Garcia and Matt Dwyer have been slotted in a welterweight contest on the preliminary portion of the UFC 176 fight card. Canada's Dwyer will be making his UFC debut, while Garcia is 2-0 in the octagon.
UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Dos Anjos
A bantamweight bout between Aaron Philips and Matt Hobar is scheduled to take place on the preliminary portion of the UFC Fight Night 49 card. The bout will likely take place on the preliminary portion of the card.
UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Nelson
Flyweights Kyoji Horiguchi and Chris Cariaso will meet on the UFC's return trip to Saitama, Japan. The Japanese prospect won both his UFC fights to date and will now go up against the No. 8 flyweight in the division.
