Diego Sanchez vs. Ross Pearson Scorecards

TUF 1 winner Diego Sanchez earned a controversial split decision victory over Ross Pearson in co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Albuquerque. Check out the scorecards.

One of the more baffling decisions on the UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Khabilov fight card took place in the co-main event between Diego Sanchez and Ross Pearson. Two of the judges scored the bout for Sanchez, and one even scored it a staggering 30-27 for "The Nightmare" even though he was knocked down in one of those rounds.

Pearson fought a strategic and controlled fight for the entire three rounds, as he refused to engage in Sanchez's brawl mentality. He warded off any of Diego's attacks except for the odd flurry, but it is truly difficult to justify a win for Sanchez, much less a 30-27 on one of the cards.

At the post-fight press conference, Sanchez stated that he believed he did enough to win the first and third round of the fight, but also admit that 30-27 was a "ridiculous" scorecard. Pearson, on the other hand, believed he was "robbed of half a paycheque"
