The UFC heavyweight veteran Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira underwent a surgery today to restore the ACL of his right knee, which was partially torn. The procedure was headed in Rio de Janeiro by Dr. Marco Aurelio Sousa and Dr. Marcio Tannure, the Medical Director of Athletical Brazilian Confederation of MMA, who told  Combate.com that everything went well.

The procedure was a success, now we have to wait the physiotherapy and his functional rehabilitation. We hope to see him on the octagon again as soon as possible.

"Minotauro", who is now 38 years old, has last fought at UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Nelson on April 11, when he was easily KO'd by Roy Nelson in the first round of the main event. Big Nog claims that his knee was already hurt when the contest happened. His last win was on October of 2012, when he submitted Dave Herman in the first round, at UFC 153.
