UFC Fight Night: Te Huna vs. Marquardt fight card

New, comments

A look at the June 28th UFC debut in New Zealand, where James Te Huna drops to middleweight to fight Nate Marquardt, who is back at 185 lbs after a stint at welterweight.

The UFC is headed for Auckland, New Zealand for the first of two events on June 28th, with the other in San Antonio. James Te Huna has had a rough stretch of fights at light heavyweight, most notably a brutal KO loss against Mauricio Rua. Te Huna has chosen a drop to middleweight for his next fight, which is against Nate Marquardt, returning to MW after a 1-3 run at welterweight. In short - Te Huna is on a 2 fight losing skid, Marquardt is on his 3rd, and this is a real UFC main event.

Believe it or not, the only ranked fighter on this card is Soa Palelei, who is #15 at HW (pending any change on Monday's rankings). He's got the co-main slot against Jared Rosholt, who will try to avoid becoming Palelei's 4th straight UFC victim. The best fight on the card is probably Charles Oliveira against Hatsu Hioki, so there's that. Here's a look at the full fight card, and maybe this can spark interest in reviving the Bloody Elbow Night Crew:
