UFC officials have confirmed that a bantamweight clash between Bryan Caraway and Erik Perez has been agreed for the promotion's Fight Night event in Albuquerque on June 7. The Albuquerque Journal first reported about the fight.
Perez (14-5) becomes the latest member from the Jackson-Winkeljohn gym to get a fight on the gym's hometown card. Perez was last in action at UFC 167 when he grabbed a decision win over Edwin Figueroa. That win got him back in to the win column following a split decision loss against Takeya Mizugaki.
Caraway (18-6) has not fought since his submission win over Johnny Bedford at UFC 159 in April of last year. He was scheduled to fight Lucas Martins at UFC 170 but an injury pulled him from the fight. His win over Bedford helped him bounce back from a split decision loss to Takeya Mizugaki.
UFC Fight Night: Albuquerque is scheduled for June 7 at the Tingley Coliseum and will be headlined by former UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson and Rustam Khabilov.
