Two middleweight that picked up losses in the last week could be facing off in the near future. Brad Tavares had a five-fight win streak broken by Yoel Romero at UFC on Fox 11 on Saturday, and he decided to tweet Michael Bisping (who lost to Tim Kennedy at the TUF Nations Finale) about a possible bout. Bisping was amenable to the matchup:
@BradTavares I want to FIGHT ASAP. Speak to the bosses. I've never turned anyone down.
— michael (@bisping) April 21, 2014
Tavares (12-2) wouldn't normally seem to be the type of fight that Bisping (24-6) would normally be a fan of - it won't really do a ton to get him back into the title picture - but if Bisping does indeed want to get back in there as as soon as possible, Tavares would be a good opponent.
Bisping has dropped to number 8 in the official UFC rankings, while Tavares sits in the 14 spot.
