Ultimate Fighter Brasil coaches Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva are set to fight at TUF Brasil Finale UFC 173 UFC 175 but they just couldn't wait and got into it on the set of the show.
Here's how UFC president Dana White described it right after it happened back in January:
"Wanderlei and Chael fought," White said. "Just today. They literally fought.
...
"While they were fighting one of Wanderlei's guys sucked punched Chael," White said. "They went crazy, crazy s--- happened there. We're dealing with that right now too. ... They literally fought today, it went on for awhile.
...
"It's one of those things, it's on a reality show, it's good and it's bad," White said. "A fight didn't need to break out between these two for people to be excited about this fight, because these two have been at each other's throats."
Here's Chael's take:
"It ended up being a two-on-one, and in that aspect, that was the most unfortunate part," Sonnen said. "The whole thing is regrettable. It never should have happened. That's one of the deals with reality TV. If you have a bad moment, you're caught. Everyone may have a bad moment. They go in their car, you yell, turn on the radio in you car and yell. In reality TV, if you have a bad moment, you're busted.
"And then what happened was the other knucklehead jumped in, that was a crime. That's what it was. That was straight up illegal."
Andre Dida had a different take:
"My intention was to separate them, but I saw that Sonnen was trying to punch him, so in my mind I realized I needed to get Sonnen out of there as fast as possible to make him stop punching Wanderlei. I would never let Wanderlei Silva in a bad situation in front of me. I punched Sonnen to make him stop, but he didn't. (The other coaches) tried to get me out of there, but I came back and punched him again. I just wanted to get Sonnen out of there."
