UFC fight bookings roundup: 4/6-4/12

Your weekly rundown of various main and preliminary card UFC fights booked this week.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Spor

The UFC is running anywhere between 50-244 events this year, so it might be a tad difficult to follow all of the UFC's fight announcements. That's what we're here for - to provide you a roundup of bookings both big and small from this week.

Tim Burke wrote up the last two posts, but as of yesterday he tweeted that "he was on a boat". Preliminary reports suggest that Tim was repeatedly rowing this boat in merrily fashion gently down a stream. So in the meantime, I'll be caretaker and recap this week's fight announcements.

TUF Nations Finale

Following last Wednesday's episode, the UFC finally revealed the full fight card. Sheldon Westcott will fight Elias Theodorou in the middleweight tournament final, while Chad Laprise battles Olivier Aubin-Mercier in the welterweight final. Other announced TUF-related matchups include Vik Grujic versus Nordine Taleb, and Richard Walsh against Chris Indich. Sarah Kaufman, who lost two opponents to injury, will rematch Leslie Smith on the FS1 preliminary card. Lastly, lightweight Mark Bocek meets newcomer Mike de la Torre following an injury to Evan Dunham.

UFC on Fox 11: Werdum vs. Browne

A pair of newcomers have been added as late replacements to next Saturday's show. Luke Zachrich replaces the injured Josh Samman against Caio Magalhaes, while the wonderfully named Ray Borg debuts against Dustin Ortiz.

UFC Fight Night: Brown vs. Silva

With Alexander Yakovlev facing Demian Maia, welterweight Yan Cabral meets Zak Cummings. Meanwhile, Tim Means is back in the UFC following two fights in LegacyFC, and he replaces William Macario opposite Neil Magny on the main card.

TUF Brazil 3 Finale

The UFC 173 co-main between Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic was moved to the main event of the TUF Brazil 3 Finale on May 31st. Meanwhile, Diego Brandao meets newcomer Brian Ortega, Rony Jason takes on Robbie Peralta, and Wilson Reis fights Pedro Munhoz. As mentioned earlier, Demian Maia now meets Alexander Yakovlev following an injury to Mike Pierce.

UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Khabilov

Bantamweights Erik Perez and Bryan Caraway are slated for a likely main card spot on the June 7th card in New Mexico.

UFC 174

Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson is set to headline a PPV for the first time in his career as he faces Ali Bagautinov in the June 14th main event in Vancouver, BC. Rory MacDonald/Tyron Woodley is the co-main event. Additionally, TUF Nations' Kajan Johnson takes on Tae Hyun Bang on the prelims.

UFC Fight Night: Te Huna vs. Marquardt

James Te Huna is dropping to middleweight to face Nate Marquardt, who returns to 185 lbs after a dismal string of performances at welterweight, in a five-round main event in Auckland.

UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens

TUF 17 winner and top 15 welterweight Kelvin Gastelum will be the night's co-main event against Sweden's Nicolas Musoke.

UFC 175

As tweeted out by Dana White last night, Ronda Rousey's latest bantamweight title defense comes against Alexis Davis. Chael Sonnen/Wanderlei Silva has been moved from the TUF Brazil 3 Finale to this card.

*Phew!* So many events, so many fight announcements, and we have three more shows to look forward to from April 16th to the 26th.
