Quinton Jackson Christian M'Pumbu

Rampage came out pressuring and taunting early as M'Pumbu worked leg kicks. Rampage committed to a big flurry early that seemed to land well, but M'Pumbu was able to tie things up in the clinch. It looked like the first round would come to a slow close, but then Rampage caught a left hook that seemed to trip up M'Pumbu and then Jackson was able to put the finishing touches on the fight.

After the official decision Rampage and King Mo got into a bit in the cage, likely to build some anticipation for their tournament final match.

Muhammed Lawal defeats Mikhail Zayats by Decision

First round started with Lawal establishing his wrestling with a quick takedown. Zayats was able to escape to his feet and from there Lawal worked his boxing, mixed together with several feinted takedowns. The second round featured a takedown by Lawal and very little else as both fighters stayed out of danger and traded a few shots. Third round was similarly lacking in significant happenings.

While Lawal got the win, it was not an overly impressive win, not the kind of statement he was likely hoping to make.

Matt Bessette defeats Diego Nunes by Split Decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28)

The fight started out with a fun first round that featured a bit of everything as Diego Nunes pressed the attack on Matt Bessette on the feet, in the clinch, and on the ground. It was not one way traffic as Bassette put up a very active defense in all phases.

The second round started with Nunes asserting a bit more dominance over Bessette at distance and in the clinch, but there Bessette landed a big right hand that dropped Nunes. Clearly hurt Nunes was on wobbly legs, but managed to survive the storm. Bessette began to land more offense, but paid for aggression a bit with a late takedown in the final seconds of round two.

Third round was contested at range and both fighters traded strikes, but it seemed like like Bessette was getting the better of exchanges.

Des Green defeats Mike Richman by Decision (30-27,29-28, 29-28)

First round was spent almost entirely on the feet at range as Richman and Green exchanged strikes. Green did land a single takedown, but Richaman was able to scramble up and then stop all the following takedown attempts. Richman seemed to find his range later in the round. The second round featured a good deal more of Green's takedown offense as he tossed Richmand around a bit more.

The third round got off to a slow start as the two just exchanged strikes at long range, and didn't progress much past that, a slow cap to a pretty entertaining fight.
