Erik Koch vs. Rafaello Oliveira -- Lightweight bout

In his return to lightweight, Koch pinged Oliveira early with a straight left and proceeded to discharge a heat-seeking volley of ground-and-pound from the top. Oliveira hung in tough but the downpour of leather was too much.

  • Erik Koch defeats Rafaello Oliveira by TKO (punches), Round 1

Ernest Chavez vs. Yosdenis Cedeno -- Lightweight bout

In the first UFC go-around for both fighters, Cedeno artfully established his striking range with a wide range of kicks while switching stances for most of the first frame. Chavez ducked under a spinning kick and hit a takedown with a minute-and-a-half left and quickly slithered into full mount to regain ground.

The second round was reminiscent of the first but Chavez took Cedeno down during a kick at the 3:30 mark. Chavez passed to side control, got halfway into mount and tried to transition to the back but Cedeno shook him off. Perhaps having lost a little steam, Cedeno was unable to command the striking exchanges in the latter half of the second and also accrued a stern warning from the ref for two fence-grabs.

The third was fairly uneventful with neither fighter establishing themselves, as reflected in the split decision.

  • Ernest Chavez defeats Yosdenis Cedeno by split decision (28-29, 29-28 x 2)
