Mark Hunt has spoken. Despite, breaking his hand on Bigfoot Silva's face in what many have called the greatest heavyweight fight of all-time, Hunt told MMAKanvas.com that he'd like to fight the recently victorious Alistair Overeem. A rematch of their fight in defunct Japanese promotion, DREAM, over 5 years ago.
MMAMania has the transcript:
"Rematches are always good. I’ve never lost a rematch with any fighter. I always like to avenge my losses, too. I saw Alistair in Japan (and) we were talking, he’s a nice guy but as a fighter, he’s got it over me, I’ve got to get it over this guy. It’s a match I’d like to have... the outcome won’t be the same."
"It won’t be the same as the last time. He won last time so… "
Dana White made it very public that Overeem did not want to fight Junior dos Santos. Overeem cited a rib injury as his reason for not accepting. However, now the only question is will Overeem accept the Mark Hunt rematch?
