The UFC has bombarded us with multiple new fights for upcoming April and May shows, but let's just focus on Fight Night 40 in Cincinnati for this post. Of the four announced bouts for the May 10th Fox Sports 1 card, the biggest one is clearly a featherweight match-up between Nik Lentz and Manny Gamburyan.

Lentz (24-6-2, 1 NC) stormed to a 3-0 run at featherweight after moving down from lightweight, but he was unable to get past Chad Mendes at UFC on Fox 9, losing a unanimous decision. Gamburyan (13-8) last fought at UFC 168, falling on the scorecards to Dennis Siver.
Herman (21-10, 1 NC) lost a largely forgettable encounter with Thales Leites at UFC 167. "Short Fuse" fought a one-off in Strikeforce against Jacare Souza, who submitted him in the 1st round, but did pick up a FOTN win over Trevor Smith last July. Natal (17-5-1) was originally scheduled to fight Herman at 167 before he took Lyoto Machida's main event spot against Tim Kennedy at UFC Fight Night 31. The Brazilian was knocked out in the opening round, which snapped his 3 fight win streak.
Wall (7-1) made his UFC debut at welterweight vs. Alex Garcia at UFC Fight Night 33, but the Aussie lasted all of 43 seconds before he was knocked out by the Canadian. Salas (11-5) was swiftly choked out by Thiago Tavares in November and has a 2-2 record in the organization.
Palelei (20-3) has made the most of his UFC return, finishing burgeoning superstar Nikita Krylov at UFC 164 and then KOing Pat Barry from full mount on the aforementioned Fight Night 33 event in Australia. Potts (8-1) is a South African who has finished all of his opponents, and has spent his entire career fighting under the EFC Africa banner. For a completely irrelevant factoid, his nickname is "Fangzz".
UFC Fight Night 40 is expected to have its main event announced very soon, as tickets go on sale exactly one month from today.
