Pat Cummins on Daniel Cormier: I made him cry before and I'll do it again

Newly signed UFC fighter Pat Cummins on how he landed the UFC 170 co-main event bout against Daniel Cormier

On Wednesday it looked like Daniel Cormier was off the UFC 170 fight card when his opponent, Rashad Evans was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury. On Thursday Cormier was back on the card when the UFC signed Patrick Cummins to step in on short notice and face Cormier on the February 22 fight card.

Cummins (4-0) is a two-time All-American wrestler from Penn State who last fought for the Sparta Combat League, earning a first round submission in that May 2013 contest.

The mostly unknown fighter got the call to step into Evans place while working his shift at a coffee shop. In this video from MMAFighting, Cummins relates that story as well as his past wrestling experience with Daniel Cormier where he defeated Cormier in practice and made him cry.

For a man stepping in on less than two weeks notice to face a fighter that many see as a top contender for the UFC light heavyweight title, Cummins is extremely confident.

Check out the video to see what Cummins has to say about his crazy day and how he plans on making the best of the opportunity that came his way on Thursday.
