UFC on Fox 13: Dos Santos vs. Miocic fight card

UFC on Fox 13 from Phoenix, Arizona is just 4 days away. See who is competing on this Saturday's show.

Andrew Richardson-USA TODAY Sports

If you caught any of the NFL on Fox action yesterday, you may have heard play-by-play announcers read off the promo as "the biggest live fight card in Fox TV history". This, of course, only makes sense if they literally associate "big" with the number of heavyweights on the broadcast. Otherwise, it's repetitive hyperbole trotted out at least once every other Fox show. Nevertheless, this is still a damn good card on paper, and former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos headlines everything as he takes on Stipe Miocic. Other heavyweights on the main card include Dutchmen Alistair Overeem and Stefan Struve, as well as Gabriel Gonzaga and Matt Mitrione. Lightweight contender Rafael dos Anjos battles the returning Nate Diaz, who has been out of action for more than a year.

On the preliminary card, women's strawweight Claudia Gadelha tries to seal a title shot against Poland's Joanna Jedrzejczyk, while Ben Saunders welcomes Joe Riggs back to the UFC. Flyweight contender John Moraga also clashes with newcomer Willie Gates, who I insist is not Bill Gates under a stage name.

Programming note: The televised preliminary bouts air on Fox Sports 1 this time around as opposed to Fox.
